Course contents: : Basic measurement quantities (Ε, P, V, I, Noise, SNR). Measurable units and conversions (dB, dBW, dBV). Time and frequency domain, transforms. Transceiver brock diagram (modulators, filters, amplifiers, mixers). Non-linearities. Basic measurement equipment (oscilloscope, generator, spectrum analyzer, vector analyzer etc.). Datasheet. Error analysis (random and systematic errors, accuracy, calibration, error propagation, uncertainty). Power measurements. Noise for RF receivers.
Assessment: Written exams at the end of the semester which will contribute up to 60% to the final grade. Measurement project which will contribute up to 20% to the final grade. Laboratory reports and/or oral examination which will contribute 25% to the final grade.
